Dr. Krista Vizuete provides care at both SWCC Medical Center and SWCC Hill Country locations.

Dr. Krista Vizuete is a board-certified pediatrician who joined Southwest Children’s Center in 2015. She grew up in Lubbock, TX and moved to Austin where she completed her undergraduate education at The University of Texas at Austin and remains a proud Longhorn. She received her medical degree from the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2012.

During her time at the UTHSCSA, she served as a Mentor in Medicine Leader and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her pediatric residency at the UTHSCSA Department of Pediatrics in San Antonio. During her residency in San Antonio, Dr. Vizuete was awarded the ‘Best-Resident’ by the faculty and co-residents.

In the last several years Dr. Vizuete has become increasingly involved in the community and now serves as Secretary and Social Chair for her Neighborhood Association and has also been active in leading a small group at her community church.

Dr. Vizuete is married to John Vizuete, MD who also practices in San Antonio as a Gastroenterologist. Together, they enjoy traveling, food and wine, exercising, tennis and staying involved with their church community. Most of their free time now though is spent with their son Jack and daughter Austen. Watching her own children grow continues to foster Dr. Vizuete’s enthusiasm and expertise in caring for young families.
